Audio Book I am Listening to in June 2020

I am happy to record that I did manage to complete three books out of five books that were left unread in my Audible library.

The last time I blogged about my audio book odyssey, I was listening to following books:-

  • The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. Written by William L. Shirer.
  • Talking to Strangers. Written by Malcolm Gladwell.
  • Mythos. Written by Stephen Fry.
  • 21 Lessons for the 21st Century. Written by Yuval Noah Harari.
  • Sherlock Holmes: Definitive Collection. Written by Arthur Conan Doyle.

Well, I managed to finish four out of the abovementioned five. I returned the one by Malcolm Gladwell–but not before finishing it–and got myself the book compiled by Late Christopher Hitchens: “The Portable Atheist : Essential Readings for the Non-believer.”

I got additional credit in June and from that I bought The Body: A Guide for Occupants by the redoubtable Bill Bryson.

Yes, from the my May Credit I had bought Why We Sleep written by one Matthew Walker. I bought the book solely because I was intrigued by the title of the book. I have listened to parts of it and I have made the correct choice.

I have made modifications in my listening regimen. In stead of listening 4 or 5 books simultaneously, I have decided listen to only one title at a time.

So, at present, in this month I am well on my way to finishing the the hugely and entertaining but very long Sherlock Holmes: Definitive Collection narrated by Mr. Stephen Fry. It is a lengthy listen, more than 70 hours long. Only 22 hours of it is left, and I hope to finish it in 10-12 days.

Books by Matthew Walker and Bill Bryson would follow hopefully. And of course, I have completely listened to The Portable Atheist which was really good and it now adorns my digital library for all eternity.
